What is the meaning of life?
Whoa, that’s a little too deep for this page, but while we’re here, we do believe it all starts with caring for those in need by purchasing a good pair of socks or a hat.... lucky for you we have these ☺
It says Fazl “Donates 50% of net profits to charity;” does this mean that Fazl is a not-for-profit organization?
We want to be very clear about this. Fazl is a for-profit organization. The difference with us is that we choose to use 50% of our net profits to support a cause that we care deeply about. Fazl grew out of our founders’ desire to support the less fortunate, treat those with amazing artisanal abilities fairly, and to change the fashion industry in this world. We understand and know that there are a lot of organizations and charities out there that don’t do what they say. We want to be forthcoming and tell you, our loyal customers, that we do turn a profit, but we use this profit to pay wages, conduct business, buy supplies, operate, and of course, support our cause. Do items purchased on the Bazaar still go towards helping Fazl's cause?
YES! Every item purchased on the Bazaar helps to continue to support poverty alleviation efforts. Additionally, it also helps some other amazing companies support causes that are near and dear to their hearts or contribute to other amazing efforts. Check out our Vendor profiles here
How do I know Fazl does what they say they do?
Follow us on social media and see for yourself (Instagram - @fazlco, Facebook - Fazl Socks). The founders of Fazl live in the Himalayas of northern India, directly working alongside the children we support and our amazing artisans. We also encourage you to visit our website and watch our video - here - to see why we do what we do. We further want to encourage you to visit our blog - here - to follow along with what is going on with Fazl.
We are actively involved with the children and women we support. It isn’t just a random cause we have chosen to associate Fazl with. Nor is it a far-flung project that we don’t personally know anything about. The children and women you see as the faces of Fazl are real. Poverty alleviation is a cause the founders were involved with before Fazl became Fazl. Who says business and social causes can’t be intertwined?
Finally, we also encourage you to sign up for our emails. It is through our emails that we provide updates on what we are involved with, share about the artisans, about the orphanages we help support, about new vendors and products joining the Bazaar and all things Fazl. Not to mention you will be the first to hear about new deals, new products, and new initiatives!
What does Fazl even mean?
Fazl is an Urdu word that means “grace.” Urdu, like Hindi, is another common language spoken in India.
I really like the names of all the Fazl products! Where do they come from?
All of the Fazl product names are inspired by the life and elements that make up the beautiful country of India. We have given each product a Hindi name. Hindi is one of the more predominant languages spoken in the Himalayan region of northern India. Each product also has the English translation with it.
Where is Fazl located? India or Canada, or where?
Both! The Fazl head office is in Canada and that is where all product ships from. The artisan-site and Asian head offices are in India, where the founders of the company reside and work alongside our wonderful artisans and the amazing children we support.
